What is PCAC?
The Philadelphia Coalition for Affordable Communities, a coalition of community, disability, faith, arts, labor, and urban agriculture organizations, is dedicated to advocating for legislation addressing Philadelphia’s housing and food affordability crises.
PCAC's Key Achievements
In the past 23 years we have
Secured over $800 million in new city funding for affordable housing
Recently amending Philadelphia’s Charter to allocate 0.5% of the general fund...
... Adding approximately $25 million annually to the City’s housing budget
In December 2022, our advocacy successfully influenced policies in two council districts that:
• Prioritize community-determined land uses
• Adjust timelines for resource gathering
• Favor community-owned projects promoting permanent affordability
